Cave of the Winds is situated almost at the southern tip of G.Api. Its entrance, on the bank of the Melinau River, is large and the vegetation around it is often whipped by a strong wind blowing out. It is easily accessible by boat and was partially explored by G.E Wilford of the Malaysian Geographical Society as long ago as the early 60's. Inside the archway, a large phreatic river entrance passage is almost 20 metres high and wide, continuing unchanged for 500 metres except for a skylight a short distance from the Melinau. The cave's accessibility and proximity to the Park make it an ideal tourist cave and nowadays access is via a large higher-level entrance, reached by a plank walk cantilevered off the cliff.
